Vancouver 2010

Wow....America, it has been awhile.

Lets just do a quick recap of what I can remember has happened since our last meeting:

The Cavs are on a 13 game win streak! Gotta love it! But they are still not satisfied and want to get another All-Star type player on the team which I am not sure that I object to at all. The players that have been tossed around are:

Ok maybe not the last one but she would make a great addition to the team chemistry!

We will see what happens but as long as we can, "WIN A RING FOR THE KING I WILL BE HAPPY!"

Also, the Olympics started and amid an early tragedy we are starting to see that the USA came to play in the Olympics. The athletes are taking the games very seriously and right now I am watching the Curling event which is amazing! I was also very impressed with the Opening Ceremonies minus the equipment malfunction right at the end and the lighting of the torch.
Hopefully, the USA will keep it up and bring home a victory in the total medal count by the end of the games!

Now the snow storm of the century has hit our state capital. Just kidding, but it seems like there is no end to the snow, hopefully sooner or later we will see the sun and all this snow will melt because right now I don't believe my car is going to be able to move for a while! We will see though. You know it is bad though when OSU closes down, I am sure the President Gee just wanted a day to watch Curling and Hockey but I guess the conditions outside were pretty bad so who knows.

Well I am going to get back to the Olympics, Hockey starts soon! USA!~ USA!~ USA!

The Answer to Life is Found in Golf

Some people take life for granted, and at times I have been one of those people but I think that I have learned to understand that life is something that you should cherish every moment of because you could be gone the next second. God has a unique way of showing us how much some people mean to you by taking them from your life too soon. I have been taught many lessons in life and the one that I think is the most important is to cherish every single minute that God gives you! I think a good way to do this is just take time out of your day and just go on a walk, put the phone down and just see where your legs take you because you don't know what is going to happen or what you will see and this is a way to see how you should be very grateful for everything that is around you. Every time I do this, I can not believe the different things that I have noticed, after hundreds of time passing by that very same place.

My favorite place to do an activity like this is on a golf course. Now, for those of you who do not know, one of my passions in life is playing, watching, and learning all about the game of golf that I can. Ever since my grandparents bought me my first set I have never found a sport that I can appreciate and understand all the hard-work and endurance that it takes to play and be good at, like golf. I know that this will cause controversy because golf is a "non-contact sport" and "you swing a club and hit a ball that does not move, how much endurance do you need for that?" Believe me people, the mental endurance that it takes on a golf course is something that years and years of training is required for. Unlike other sports we can't examine what went wrong on that last swing by looking at film, we need to use our minds and figure out a way to solve a swing issue in the matter of hitting your shot, realizing something is wrong, and walking/riding to your ball to swing again. This is what I love about the sport.

I will always be thankful for my grandparents giving me those golf clubs because I think without golf I would be a totally different person. Going golfing with my friends is also fun too, in high school all I thought of golf as was a competition, now I can see how golf is relaxing and can evolve a friendship because there is nothing like spending 3-4 hours out on the course with good friend. Greg, Dre, Zac, Tom, Nate, and Cody have all seen what it is like to play with me, the good and the bad but yet we always have fun and can make a competition interesting, Arnie's to the winner!

I think one thing that will make golf a little more popular is for the young players to
have fun out on the course and make the game interesting and worth watching. I think
players like Anthony Kim and Bubba Watson have done a good job of this. The PGA
just needs to market to the youth of America more and try to make golf not such a
pricey game like, I believe it currently is.

In conclusion, I would say that if you have never played give it a chance, there is no hurt
in trying something once and I think the sport is well worth it. It will give you the
chance to bond with friends and examine how great life it!
